OVERVIEW
Unlighten is a short film about love, separation and the difficult decision to let go. A woman steps onto a balcony and prepares to light a cigarette, but before taking her first drag, she receives a phone call from her former partner. What follows is a quiet and intimate farewell, forcing her to confront a relationship that has already reached its end. The film unfolds almost entirely through one conversation, using pauses, restrained emotions and the recurring image of the cigarette to reflect the protagonist’s inner conflict. In the final moment, the cigarette continues burning untouched in the ashtray, becoming a visual metaphor for a relationship that was once lit but never allowed to continue — a memory that remains even after two people decide to move forward separately.
《未點燃的煙 Unlighten》是一部關於愛、離別與放手的短片。一名女人走到露台準備點燃香煙，卻在吸下第一口之前收到前度來電。這通電話令她重新面對一段已經走到終點的關係。她仍然愛著對方，也曾經相信兩人可以一起跨過情緒上的低谷，但在反覆努力之後，她逐漸明白，愛一個人並不一定代表必須繼續留在對方身邊。 整部作品集中在一場看似平靜的告別之中，透過女人克制的說話、沉默和逐漸流露的情緒，呈現她由不捨走向接受的過程。故事最後以仍然在煙灰缸中燃燒的香煙作結，將「未真正吸下的一口煙」轉化成一段未能走到最後的感情——即使留下遺憾，兩個人仍然可以選擇祝福對方，繼續各自的人生。
